You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile

  1. Would you perhaps consider moving a great diner next to a quaint cemetery and keeping the diner open as a diner? As far as I’m concerned, that is a weekend retreat right there. I would offer my slightly creepy, but very thorough gravetending services–to keep the cemetery looking loved, and I would make sure that there was an ample population of charming squirrels on hand. Even if it meant that I had to make a yearly trip to New York, which has–I know–more to it than just “The City.”

And perhaps you consider not allowing any NY Yankees to be buried there.

  2. Mr. Z, it would be very, very difficult to bar Yankees fans from being buried in an upstate New York cemetery. If you can manage to overcome that particular desire, then you are more than welcome to maintain, in a slightly creepy way, your gravetending services in my future diner-cemetery compound.

  3. well, considering how many phrases we both like, how many songs and poems, i am amazed at how different our backgrounds are! but we must be around the same age…

maybe you’ll make me love upstate NY…..
